FOOD BANK – a big thank you for the food and baby items left in the porch – taken to the food bank on Thursday and ever so gratefully received.

MEDITERRANEAN WEATHER – for the next few days – yipee. Perhaps it should have waited till the children finished school for the summer holidays. Please God we can all enjoy a few hours outside.

LIFTING OF RESTRICTIONS – instructions from the diocese suggest that we make the changes gradually. We can reduce the social distancing that was required in churches and the church does not need sanitising after each service. Because the infection rate is quite high at present it is suggested that we stay seated, do not sing do not give the sign of peace, do not use holy water, do not receive from the chalice.

But, people must feel free to wear a mask if they so wish. Most days the church doors will remain open to provide good air circulation. We will leave the offertory collection baskets in the porch; it is less intrusive than sending them round. From now onwards we will always sanitise our hands before distributing Holy Communion

HATS OFF – to our band of sanitisers who have sanitised the church every day for the past sixteen months, and have done so with grace and humour. Well done and thank you – sanitising was required to keep the church open.

JV to love someone is to show to them their beauty, their worth and their importance.

RUTH BURROWS –‘ My long exposure to the gospels has brought me to the point where I perceive one message and one message only, namely, that God, Jesus’ God, is total unconditional love.’

THE BEST VIEW – comes after the hardest climb.

NICKY GUMBEL – I have interviewed hundreds of people around the world who have come to faith in Jesus. The question I ask over and over again is, ‘What difference has Jesus made?’ and the genuine answers given by people I quote below are typical. ‘ My life has beem completely changed. I now look at the world with different eyes….I feel love for everyone and an inner peace that I never imagined could exist. ‘I had been living my life in a dark hole, I was carrying a great weight on my shoulders…that burden has gone.. and I am filled with great hope, joy, excitement and love.. all I want to do is to serve Christ in whatever way he chooses. ‘I feel like I have found love and conquered death in one day.’ The difference Jesus makes is massive, eternal, and impossible to comprehend.

THOMAS TRAHERNE – The whole business of religion is gratitude.
