AUTUMN HAS ARRIVED – cooler and wetter. The leaves are turning lemon, lime, gold, chocolate, brown, and in the sunshine look quite splendid. Let’s hope the weather is kind to the children during half term. And here we are with more restrictions. In Ireland and Wales the churches are closed again. Hope that people feel comfortable and safe in the church; we have a high ceiling and we are all facing forward. Any comments are welcome

LOOKS HAPPY – ‘At Finnegan’s wake, Katy Ryan remarked about the corpse. ‘Doesn’t he look happy?’ ‘Yes,’ said the widow Finnegan. ‘He died in his sleep and he doesn’t know he’s dead yet! ‘In fact, she went on, if he wakes up in the morning the shock will kill him!’

The trick is growing up without growing old

JENNY JUGAN – Go and find Jesus when your patience and strength give out and you feel alone and helpless. He is waiting for you. Say to him, ‘Jesus, you know exactly what is going on. You are all I have, and you know all. Come to my help.’ And then go and don’t worry about how you are going to manage. That you have told God about it is enough. He has a good memory.

J O’D – May the Angel of Encouragement confirm you in worth and self respect, that you may live with the dignity that presides in you soul.

KEEP WELL AND STAY SAFE
