WEE BIT COOLER –as the days go by and darker earlier in the evening. We seem to be managing ok and comments are always welcome. As mentioned before, some people may feel more comfortable attending a weekday Mass rather than one at weekend.

Suspect that nothing is going to change much well into next year.

The Pope has just released his new encyclical ‘Fratelli Tutti’ – emphasing the upside-down logic of the gospel and the spirit of St Francis that we are one family of brothers and sisters.

AN ANGEL? ‘How would you describe your wife?’ asked O’Toole. ‘Well’, said Murphy, ‘I would say she was an angel.’ ‘You mean beautiful?’ said O’Toole.

‘No,’ replied Murphy, ‘ I mean she’s always up in the air harping on about something.’

ANTHONY de MELLO SJ – ‘To the disciples’ delight the Abba said he wanted a new shirt for his birthday. The finest cloth was bought. The village tailor came in to have the Abba measured and promised, by the will of God, to make the shirt within a week. A week went by and no shirt. Said the tailor ‘There has been a slight delay. But, by the will of God, it will be ready tomorrow.’ Next day the tailor said ‘ I’m sorry it isn’t done. Try again tomorrow and, if God wills, it will certainly be ready. The following day the Abba said, ‘Ask him how long it will take if he keeps God out of it.’

RULE OF COMGALL – ‘ If anybody enters the path of repentance it is sufficient to advance a step every day. If you practise repentance, if your heart is meek, your way will be straight to the King of the Kingdom of heaven.’

The best view comes after the hardest climb

Strong people don’t put others down, they lift them up.
