AND JUST WONDERING – Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Tony Award winning masterpiece SUNSET BOULEVARD is on tour and comes to Manchester in October, starring Rita Jones as Norma Desmond – Joining BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing finalist Danny Mac and a host of others. OUR TRIP TO YORK – will take place on Sunday 27th August and the cost is £5. We will probably have to leave a little earlier than usual. It is always a joy to visit York and the Minster is something quite special. List in the porch.

THREE PARKS LINK WALK – Sunday 16th July – an 11 mile moderate walk with Paul Nethercott linking Stanford, Cheetham and Stalybridge Country Parks.

EXHIBITION OF ARTWORKS – inspired by the Syrian conflict is on at the Cathedral this weekend – 12 noon onwards.

WIMBLEDON FEVER – is clearly gripping Mossley; the streets have been strangely quiet during the afternoon and evening! No extremes of weather this past week and the occasional very welcome shower. The school closes at 2pm on 27th July.
WELL I NEVER – Churchill was so beguiled by Vintage Pol champagne that he drank 500 cases of it during the last ten years of his life. That’s one and a half bottles a day, every day. Not bad going – and that doesn’t include…….!
