FUNERAL SERVICE – for Esther Horrocks is on Tuesday at 1.30pm in church followd by burial in Mossley Cemetery.
REQUIEM MASS – for Paul Fawcett is on Monday 22nd May at 1pm followed by burial in Lees Cemetery.
MASS TIMES THIS WEEK – 10am each day
FEASTS THIS WEEK – Mon- St Isidore the Farmer; Tues-St Brendan; Wed-St Paschal; Fri-St Celestine; Sat- St Bernadine.
CONFESSIONS – Saturdays after 10am Mass and at 6.10pm
TEA AND COFFEE – in the parish room after Mass – access through the sacristy- there will not be any refreshments next Sunday..
FIRST HOLY COMMUNIONS – take place next Sunday during the 11.30am Mass – 10am Mass as usual – PIETY STALL – has lots of gifts and cards.
OUTING TO CHESTER – THIS SUNDAY – the coach will leave from the bus stop on Stamford Street at 12.30pm. Please God, it will be a lovely day out; Chester a wonderful place to visit and a joy to walk round the cathedral and along the city walls and down by the river. Will collect £5 on the coach – but parishioners can pay £1 weekly! Will return between 5.30 and 6pm.
MATILDA – THE MUSICAL – a number of perspicacious parishioners pointed out that this exciting musical is being performed in 2018 and not this autumn. However, the tickets, so we understand, are going like hot cakes. It seems that we should be ordering the tickets in the next few weeks – there is a list in the porch.
Winner of over 85 international awards, including 16 for best musical.
10K RUN FOR CHARITY – at the end of the month Ann Ratchford will be running the 10K run for Cafod. Anyone wishing to sponsor her is invited to sign the list in the porch.
DONATION RECEIVED – we received a cheque for £350 from the Traditional Whit Friday Committee. We are very grateful for their generosity and for their fund-raising efforts over the past year – the money does in fact pay for the band.
WHIT FRIDAY PROCESSION – Trevor has left some lists in the porch for the various volunteers required for the Whit Friday Procession.
NEXT MONTH’S VISITS TO THE LOWRY THEATRE – ‘The Play that Went Wrong’- on Wednesday 7th June – tickets are £29 including transport.
And, ‘La Cage aux Folles’ – on Wednesday 14th June – tickets are £41 including transport. Money can be paid for any time this month – or before Christmas!
STALYBRIDGE & ABOVE – next Sunday- a strenuous 11 miles walk with Paul Nethercott taking in Gorse Hall, Matley, Hobson Moor, Hollingsworth Moor, Swineshaw Reservoirs, Brushes and Millbrook. 10am-3.30pm -Staley Way car park.
