MASS TIMES THIS WEEK – 10am each day – except Wednesday at 12 noon – and Friday at 9am.

Thurs-St Wilfrid, Fri- St Edward the Confessor, Sat- St Callistus.
ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT – please note that this week it will be on THURSDAY – 9 till 10am.
CONFESSIONS – Saturdays after 10am Mass and at 6.10pm
TEA AND COFFEE – in the parish room after Mass – access through sacristy.
PARISH LUNCH – this Wednesday after 12 noon Mass – list in the porch.
HOPE IN THE FUTURE – there are some prayer cards in the porch.
SAN DAMIANO CROSS – on Wednesday evening at the Cathedral each parish received a picture of the San Damiano Cross. Ours got rather wet due to the driving rain which greeted us when we left the Cathedral and made our way to Victoria Station.
PARISH TEAM – a few vacancies left on the parish team – list in the porch. We are asked to meet three times before Advent to discern how best we can be renewed as a parish and so be truly missionary. No meeting to last more than an hour.
SUNSET BOULEVARD – Thursday 26th October at the Palace Theatre
GUYS AND DOLLS – just mentioning that we go to the Royal Exchange Theatre on Thursday 7th December.
HELP – needed to arrange flowers in church. If you can spare any time please see Bernadette Hayes of Fr Lavin. If we had three or four teams of two people it would make it less demanding – and much more fun!
NEXT SATURDAY – Sister Colette mentions that there is Coffee Morning, tombola, raffle and bring and buy, in aid of the Presentation Mission in Zambia, at the Presentation Convent 111 Audenshaw Road from 11am till 2pm. All welcome.
PILGRIMAGE TO MEDJUGORJE – see the poster in the porch
MEDITATION – during October we have meditation in the parish room 7.15 till 8.15pm – all welcome – everyone will leave in peace!
PARISH MAGAZINE – do think about an article you would like to submit. Typed or written copies can be left at the presbytery. .
GETTING DARKER – the nights are certainly drawing in and the temperature is a hint cooler, but fingers crossed for a late heatwave
RABBI ABRAHAM HESCHEL – his words in his old age:’ I did not ask for success: I asked for wonder.’ And wonder is giving (and calling) attention to the world in order to praise it.
