BITS AND BOBS – the carpet where we stand to receive Holy Communion has been replaced. There is now a light over the statues of The Sacred Heart, St Joseph and St Anthony – hope they like them. To the right and left of the entrance of the church we have added plastic sheeting – to improve the appearance and for ease of cleaning.
PARISH MAGAZINE – we really do want to bring out an edition this year. Do think about something that would appeal to readers – more later.
INTERESTING – when the middle C is struck on the piano the piston of bones in your inner ear vibrates exactly 256 times a second; the entire cycle of blood circling your body takes less than a minute; and each day you think about 50,000 different thoughts; and when you flex your hand you are using seventy different muscles. Aren’t we wonderful creatures!
REALLY QUIET – about Mossley this past week and when the sun shone everything was quite splendid. Two weeks left of the school holidays. Wonder if parishioners managed to pick any bilberries this year – nothing quite beats a bilberry pie. The heather on the moors looks gorgeous just now.
