ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT – Fridays at 9-10am

CONFESSIONS – Saturdays at 10.30am and 6.10pm.

CHURCH UNITY SERVICE – our local Unity Service will take place at All Saints on Monday 20th January at 7.30pm. The week of prayer for Christian Unity begins on Saturday 19th January.

MAYOR’S CIVIC AND CHARITY DINNER – will take place on 1st March at Westholme – 5 course dinner – costing £24. The event raises money for local charities- for more information and for tickets contact Dean on 834589.

QUIZ NIGHT – in the parish room on Wednesday 29th January, starting at 8pm – refreshments and bring your own bottle. Any proceeds will go to the Children’s Hospice. It promises to be an excellent evening – do add your name to the list in the porch.

WOMEN’S DAY OF PRAYER – Friday 7th March at the Methodist Church.

TEA AND COFFEE – in the parish room after Mass- access through sacristy.

SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMME – the First Communion children take part in today’s Mass as part of their preparation.

PARISH MAGAZINE – any articles to thejosephian.aol.com – and handwritten or typed copies can be left at the presbytery. The ideal time for putting pen to paper when the nights are long and dark – and even the odd rant would be welcome!

NEXT WEEK – we will give a summary of our financial statement which we are required to submit to the diocese each January. By the bye, this week the parishes leave the Royal Bank of Scotland for Barclay’s – which will not be so convenient for St Joseph’s where the previous bank was in walking distance.

OFFERTORY ENVELOPES – once again, many thanks for taking the envelopes and many thanks for those who have chosen to gift aid their contribution. There are still spare envelopes if you would like to take one and have not already got one – just write your name and envelope number on the sheet.

PARISH LUNCH – all welcome – on Wednesday 12th February.

AROUND THE BEND IN EIGHTY DAYS – the weather isn’t helping!
