PARISH WALK – today – meeting outside the church at 1.45pm and then heading to Carbrook to begin our walk – about five miles over the moors. Do come along – animals also welcome. It should be dry but the temperature might not be in the 70’s as advertised – blame software malfunction!

SACRAMENTAL PROGRAMME – meeting for parents and children before 10am Mass today.

FIRST HOLY COMMUNIONS – take place next Sunday, 23rd June, during the 11.30am Mass. Gifts and cards can be found on the Piety Stall.

FOOD PARCELS – many thanks for the food parcels left in the presbytery porch- they have been passed on. Also, thanks for the blankets and knitted hats for the Fish and Chip Babies – they have been passed on.

RHUBARB – do help yourself to the rhubarb in the back garden.

FATHERS DAY – salutations to all Fathers today and hope you are indulged!

COFFEE AND TEA – served in the Parish Room after Mass – access via sacristy. Latterly an excellent selection of cakes has been on offer.

PARISH MAGAZINE – should be available at the end of the month. The editor is ever so grateful for all the articles.

WELL BLESSED -we were well blessed with the weather; the sunshine was glorious, if not heavenly; but, it couldn’t last. Midsummer’s Day is on 20th June when the sun is directly over the Tropic of Cancer. I suppose the rain is a blessing in its own way – as long as the summer isn’t a wash-out!

MESSAGES LEFT ON DOORMATS – ‘Friends are always welcome’ or ‘O no, not you again!’ – will remove the latter before the bishop comes!

PLENTY OF SPACE UP THERE – it is said that there are 1,600 galaxes for every person on earth. The American space probe Pioneer 10, launched in 1972 is expected to reach the star Alderbaran in another 2 million years. The Milky Way Galaxy is a sweeping band of light composed of 300,000 million stars, each shines as brightly as our sun – makes you think! And give thanks.
