WHIT PROCESSION – Friday 1st June. Each church needs to have at least 4 stewards – a police presence cannot be guaranteed. Marshalls and Stewards – who will have to wear yellow high visibility vests- are asked to attend a ‘briefing session’ at All Saints Church on Monday 14th May at 7.30pm. This year, all churches must take a more active role in stewarding and marshalling the procession. The police will send 4 offices, if they have any spare, but they will not take an active role. All churches who process to and from the Market Ground must have 2 marshalls in front of their processions, plus stewards on the sides and at the rear. Volunteers ?

SISTER ACT – AT THE OPERA HOUSE – THEATRE OUTING – Tuesday 2nd October, tickets circa £25. There is a list in the porch and transport will be arranged.

TEDDY BEAR PARACHUTE DROP -from the top of St George’s Tower, on Saturday 12th May. Registration at 2pm. Sponsored 90ft drop.

JUBILEE BARBECUE – on Tuesday 5th June. We have to decide the time and wondered if people would indicate what time they thought best: lunch, afternoon or evening?

ABNEY CHURCH SPRING FAIR – Saturday 19th May at 11-2pm.

OFF THE TREADMILL – hoping that parishioners are able to put their feet up this weekend. The weather forecast isn’t encouraging but we have to seize the moment! The sun has been smiling on Mossley this past week, albeit shyly, and it stays light late into the evening. ‘Most people simply don’t know how beautiful the world is and how much splendour is revealed in the smallest things, in a common flower, in a stone, in the bark of a tree or the leaf of a birch.’ Rainer Maria Rilke.

MARY’S MONTH – a decade of the Rosary a day will work wonders!
